3 gov’t emissaries set out for Bossi kidnappers’ hideout

By Joel Guinto
MANILA, Philippines -- Government peace negotiators have sent three emissaries to the hideout of the kidnappers of Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi to secure proof that he was still alive.

The team, whose leader was involved in negotiations that led to the release of Italian priest Guissepe Pierantoni in 2002, left Iligan City at 1 p.m. Tuesday to the undisclosed location of the abductors, said Major General Ben Dolorfino, co-chairman of the Ad-hoc Joint Action Group (AHJAG).

With a cellular phone that he provided, Dolorfino said the three planned to put Bossi on the phone with someone who could recognize his voice.

"They were sent to there to produce proof of life," Dolorfino told reporters in Camp Aguinaldo.
